Hand Goods

Established in 1970 by Assunta Martin nee Heffel, Hand Goods began as a small crafts gallery showcasing local artists work in Sebastopol, California.

As the store grew in popularity it moved to a larger space in nearby Occidental, eventually landing in it’s current location. Run by Assunta and Nancy Farah for many years, the store transitioned to longtime employee Heidi Schmidt in 1996. Schmidt has continued the Hand Goods legacy by curating a wide variety of locally made goods.

Hand Goods strives for the unique atmosphere of gallery and retail store, where both an original oil painting and a locally crafted card are featured with the same care.
